The Tourist Information Center of Nitra NISYS was based in 1993. It is a non-profit organization and an independent department of the Municipal Authority in Nitra. The Tourist Information Center of Nitra NISYS is a member of the Association of Information Centers in Slovakia (AICES) with a seat in Liptovský Mikuláš. Long-time membership in the AICES enables us to initiate business connection on the level of Ministeries, embassies, TASR (press agency), airlines and media, which we provide data about life in the town and the region to. The Tourist Information Center of Nitra NISYS is devided by activities into a city information center and a tourist information agency. The City Information Center comprises of complete information about the town, incuding a detailed database of entrepreneurial firms and organization operating in the town territory. The Tourist Information Agency provides regional information about tourism in connection to the whole Slovakia. The NISYS also provides a tourist guide, fax and copy service as well as bill-boarding on town information ceneterings. It specialises for selling of publications and promotional materials about Nitra and Slovakia, maps, postcards, CD-s, telephone cards and gifts The NISYS keeps at their disposal videos of Slovak towns, which can be lend to schools or institutions free of charge. It cooperates with primary and secondary schools as well as with spare-time organizations at inquiries and data proccessing about history and today in the town and it helps at arrangments of seminars, competitions as well as it helps at processing of final school-works.
